     The Peacemaker Program, Inc. has a Board of Directors with members from all over the community.  Meet these remarkable members below!

We are currently seeking individuals to to become involved in our various leadership committees!  Do you want to put an end to bullying in schools?  Would you like to help give children a voice in court?  Are you interested in exciting events and fundraising?  These and other activities can serve as a future path to our board of directors.

Tony Scibelli, Board Member

Tony Scibelli

Anthony Scibelli is the Vice President of Human Resources & Support Services for Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. Anthony oversees facilities management and is responsible for all aspects of human resources, including various support departments such as housekeeping, food services, laundry, bio-medical engineering and telecommunications.

Anthony has been with FSLHC since November 2004 and has 15 years of human resources experience. Prior to joining FLSHC, Anthony held the position of Director, Human Resources with two New York based supermarket chains, both of which were among the top 50 largest food retail companies in the United States.

Anthony holds his PHR certification from the Society of Human Resources and is a graduate of Lesley College in Cambridge MA with a Masters Degree in Training & Development.

Anthony resides in Clinton and in his spare time, he enjoys boating and running.

  

Board Vice-President

Beverly Quist

Beverly Quist is an active member of our community. As a professor of criminal justice at Mohawk Valley Community College, she has developed courses in restorative justice and mediation. In addition to her service on The Peacemaker Program Board of Directors, she has served on the Boards of the YWCA of the Mohawk Valley, GroWest, the League of Women Voters of Utica/Rome, the Criminal Justice Educators Association of New York State, the New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault, and the Justice Studies Association. She is a recognized leader in her field with awards that include the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Mohawk Valley Community College “Make a Difference Award”.

Tracy Soules

Tracy is a long time friend of Peacemaker having been involved in the organization for more than 8 years. She has served on the board of directors, various committees of the organization, is a trained mediator for Peacemaker and reigning Glow Golf Chair. She lives in Mohawk with husband Mitch and has 4 children to boast about- James- a Utica Police Officer, Tara -a banker, Mitchell- a college student, and Ryan- a 7 yr old bundle of energy!  She has one addiction and that is her grandson Tyler who “rocks her world”. Tracy has been employed by the Unified Court System for 30 years. She describes herself as a community activist and strives to encourage people to get involved make a difference in their own unique way.

Mary Hayes Gordon

Mary is the Assistant Director of the Young Scholars Liberty Partnerships Program at Utica College. She works every day to ensure that Utica’s high risk youth succeed in school and beyond.

In addition to The Peacemaker Program, Inc. Mary is involved in many other boards including Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency and Zonta International of Utica; in addition, she is a former board member and chair of finance and investment committee for YWCA of the Mohawk Valley.

Mary has been a long term advocate for families and children. She is a mother of four and lives in New Hartford with her husband Dean.

Denise Flihan

Denise Flihan is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Human Technologies Corporation.

Denise is a graduate of MVCC and SUNY Institute of Technology and holds a B.S. in Accounting. In addition to her board position with The Peacemaker Program, Denise is a member of the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts Foothills Council and the Greater Utica Area American Heart Association, chairing the Go Red for Women Luncheon, and is also involved with the Mohawk Valley Ride for Missing Children. Denise resides in Whitesboro with her husband and two children.

  

Eileen La Barbera

Eileen La Barbera is the Office Manager at her Husbands Practice, La Barbara Chiropractic in Utica and is a Licensed Radiologic Technologist. She has been on the Upstate Cerebral Palsy Board of Directors for seven years, and is also a Board Member for The Kelberman Center for Autism Services.

Eileen lives in Barneveld, NY with her Husband and 3 sons which keep her busy with their various athletic involvements. She enjoys skiing at Gore Mountain during the winter and spends much time during the summer at White Lake.

  

Fran Liuzzi

Francis Liuzzi is the owner of Advanced Collection And Recovery, LLC of Washington Mills, New York. He previously worked in the banking industry for 20 years, most recently as Assistant Vice President with Partners Trust Bank. Fran has served on the Peacemaker board for several years including the position of Treasurer. He was also a previous Chair of the Come to the Table Fundraising event.

In addition to The Peacemaker Program, he is involved in various community and charitable organizations including The Genesis Group, Sons of the American Legion, and the American Heart Association. He is a recognized leader in his field with awards that include the Savings Bank of Utica President's Award.

  
Lisa Miller, Board President

Lisa Miller

Lisa Miller, a native of Syracuse, moved to the area in 1991. Lisa has been with the Peacemaker Program for six years, has served as Board President for two years, and is also a Court Appointed Special Advocate and Child Custody Advocate Volunteer. Lisa is a graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College and The NY Institute of Photography and she is the owner of Photography by Lisa. Lisa resides in New Hartford and has three sons, Anthony, Michael and John.

  

George Murad, Esq.

George Murad has been practicing law for 30 years (since 1978)! He co-runs Murad & Murad, a general practice firm with emphasis on Matrimonial and Family Court Law. He has been involved with The Peacemaker Program, Inc. since its inception. George is a member of the NY State Bar Association, Oneida County Bar Association, NYS Family Law Section, NYS Matrimonial Law Section, Oneida County Bar Association Family and Matrimonial Law Committee and a founding member and attorney participant in the Oneida County Family Treatment Court.

He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Utica, NY; LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY; and Howard University Law School in Washington, D.C.

In addition to his involvement in the Peacemaker Program, George is a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is proudly married to Luann Horton-Murad and has one son, William.

  

John Russo

John Russo has dedicated his personal and professional life to helping others achieve positive outcomes. Retiring from his position as Executive Director of The Community Food Bank, he is a former Utica City Firefighter.

He remains involved by volunteering at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare as an advocate in the fight against cancer, and John is a member of the Board of Directors of the Denti Foundation.  He attended Mohawk Valley Community College and Empire State College.  In addition to being a member of The Peacemaker Program Board of Directors, he is also a volunteer child advocate and qa member of the CASA Advisory Board.

  

Michael A. Wilk, CPA

Michael is a graduate of the State University of New York Institute of Technology, with a B.S. in accounting. He has been in public accounting since 1989 and is currently employed with Daniel J. Robertello, CPA, PC. He has a wide range of experience in the public accounting field including small business consulting and accounting, compilations and reviews of a variety of businesses, non profit auditing, corporate and individual income taxes, as well as sales tax and payroll taxes with an expertise in the field of small businesses.

Michael also is on the accounting advisory committee at Herkimer County Community College as well as a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Michael was born and raised in Frankfort, NY and currently resides in Whitesboro, NY with his wife Colette, his daughter Erika and his son Matthew.

  

Susan Warwick

Sue is a graduate of Utica College where she received her B.S. in Social Work. Shortly thereafter, she began working at what was then St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital as the Assistant Director of Volunteers. Currently, Sue is the Director of Volunteer Services at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare where she oversees the management of over 200 volunteers, an Assistant Director of Volunteer Services and Human Resources, a Volunteer Services Coordinator and 2 Greeters. She chairs the Reward and Recognition committee at the hospital whose activities recently received national recognition.

Sue’s involvement with the Peacemaker Program began when several of her friends began designing tables for Come to the Table. Sue has been designing tables herself for the past 3 years and in 2008, she joined the CTTT committee to chair the Preview Gala. In 2009 and 2010, Sue has served as the chairperson of the event.

In the past, Sue served for several years on the board of the YWCA where she helped to coordinate events like Salute for Outstanding Women. Currently she is a member of the New York State Director’s of Volunteer Services (NYSADVS) where she has held several offices at the state and local board level.
